Breeding candidates tested for:

Brachycephaly (BR-BMP3)
Progressive Retinal Atrophy Rod-Cone Dysplasia 3 (PRA-RCD3)
Degenerative Myelopathy (DM)
Hyperuricosuria (HU)
We follow the standard procedure of performing health tests through OFA for eyes, heart, and patellar on all breeding candidates. However, we've noticed that these particular tests do not uncover other important health issues within the Pomeranian breed. We see an opportunity to improve our approach, which is why our program will focus on GENSOL Animal Diagnostics for the Recommended Health Genetic Testing specific to the Pomeranian breed. These results are reliable and beneficial for making informed decisions about future litters.

AKC and the Canine Health Foundation (CHIC) and the Orthopedic Foundation for Animals has identified and working with the Parent Club - the Pomeranian Dog Club of America have specified three required and necessary health tests for breeding Pomeranians, Cardiac Evaluation and Patellar Luxation. The third test is a ACVO Eye Examination or an Autoimmune Thyroiditis Evaluation from an approved Lab. CHIC works with parent breed clubs to identify health screening protocols appropriate for individual breeds, A dog issued a CHIC number means that the dog was tested for the recommended tests.

The results are available on the OFA website for each dog listed below over one year of age.
